What To Do At GGFest

There are lots of things to do at GGFest.  Check out our lineup of activities!

Panel Discussions and Flash Talks

Greg Street from Riot Games will kick off the event with a remote greeting, and Doug Whatley the CEO of BreakAway Games will deliver a keynote speech at 4:00pm.

We will then hear from various game developers and game industry experts for a panel discussion on how to break into gaming industry at 4:30pm.

The panel discussion will be followed by flash talks on how to be an Esports pro and how to begin your own Esports program.

Then the founder of GRID, Mariam Nusrat, will talk about her new no-code platform called Breshna and invite attendees to try it out with a Breshna game jam.

Gaming Tournaments

All tournament registrations are free for event attendees.  You must have an event wristband or badge to enter the tournament area.  Registration  will close on the night before each scheduled tournament at 11:59pm.

Friday 6:00pm – Fortnite Tournament.  This last man standing free for all tournament will be played on XBOX One and will result in one final winner.

Saturday 11:00am – Smash Bros. and Rocket League Tournaments

Smash Bros. will be 1v1 on the Switch and will follow standard Frostbite format.

Rocket League will be a 3v3 tournament on XBOX One. If you are an individual looking for people to team up with, head over to our GGFest discord server to look for other players in need of a team.

Sunday 11:00am – MarioKart 8 Deluxe Tournament
The MarioKart 8 Deluxe tournament will be a singles tournament on the Switch.

If you are interested in participating in any of these tournaments, a receipt will be emailed to you with the purchase of a ticket with instructions on how to register.

Winners will receive Visa Gift cards in an amount to be determined by the number of player registrations.

Tabletop Workshops and Demos

Located in the main Tables & Towers space, we will have several tabletop game demos for the following:

Marvel Critical Protocol

Start Wars Legion

Secret Santa

Check out the Schedule of Events for workshop days and times.  Each workshop participant will be entered into a demo raffle for a prize after the workshop.

Retro Arcade and Open Table Top Play

Do you love PacMan? Pinball? Street Fighter? Well look no further! We’re bringing in retro games by the truck load.  This arcade is free for ticket holders all weekend.  

We will also have open tables available for participants to reserve for their own tabletop game session.  Each reservation will be available in 2 hour increments.  

Quick Save

Live Music and DJs

Free for all patrons of the mall during Good Game Fest will be live music at the center court fountain.  Baltimore’s own Quick Save will be performing renditions of game theme songs on Saturday at 11:30 a.m, 3:30 p.m and 5:30 p.m while various EDM DJs will be performing throughout Friday and Saturday, including Shakfox, Knard, Kelvra, Super Sonic, Mogwai, and Callisto.

Children’s Activity Area

Child attendees are free with the purchase of an adult ticket and are welcome to play games, do craft activities, get their face painted, and more.  This area is for the little one not quite ready to take up the tournament circuit.

Face painting will be available for a fee during the weekend event, but will be free to kids with the event wristband on Saturday from 11:00 to 4:00.  

Cosplay and Costume Social media spot

Do you have an awesome costume? You and your friends have a great group setup? Stop by the photo op area to take selfies with your friends and post to social media.  Let’s see who rules!

Vendor Marketplace and Sponsor Displays

Find the perfect tabletop accessory, or that awesome sticker that speaks to you. Pick up an event t-shirt or sticker to take with you. Vendors from all across the region will be selling their products throughout the entire weekend.

A student or parent? We’ll have colleges and organizations that offer financial assistance or scholarships to their Esport gaming leagues in attendance as well. Stop by their tables for more information on these fantastic opportunities.
